The Most Important 2025 Transits | Astrology Answers

Share

We’re soon in 2025; a new year means we have new astrology to contend with! 2025 is a doozy, so buckle up, stargazers; it’s going to be a bumpy ride! Let’s get right to it.

The MOST Important Transit: Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune Change Signs

It’s not just one again this year!

2025 is a MONSTER year because it’s got three of the slow planets – Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune – all starting to move to new signs.

In 2024, we had Pluto moving to Aquarius, and that was big enough. For 2025, it’s going to be three of them – like I said, buckle up!

Neptune is on the move first and exits Pisces to move into Aries on March 30th, 2025. It’ll stay until October 22nd, so it has almost 7 months in the new sign. Neptune is the planet of spirituality, intuition, imagination illusion, delusion, the fog – all of this is heightened as Neptune is nearing the end of Pisces and moving to Aries.

In Aries, Neptune becomes more concerned with taking the inward and bringing it outward. Neptune has been at home in Pisces, and this is very quiet, secluded energy, while Aries is loud and in-your-face energy.

Saturn has also been in Pisces with Neptune and will move to Aries, touring Aries from May 24th to September 1st, 2025. Saturn is reality and has splashed cold water on some of the Neptunian romanticism, and we’ve had to deal with spiritual, karmic, and subconscious traumas and issues.

This continues in 2025, but we will also become more proactive about it with Aries. We need to be smart about it with Saturn, though, and not give in to the impulsive, impatient Aries energy.

If we can take action in smart ways while being considerate of others and releasing baggage we no longer need, we can step forward feeling more confident, bold, and inspired to blaze a whole new trail in our lives.

Saturn and Neptune join Chiron in Aries, and Chiron in Aries has been a time where we’ve had to work on healing issues impacting our identity and sense of self. If we’ve done the healing by now, we can see rewards for that and are quietly empowered.

And then there’s Uranus, the planet of change and the future, who tours Gemini from July 7th to November 7th, 2025. Uranus has been in Taurus, changing the status quo, challenging our values, and shaping our confidence in our individuality.

With Uranus in Gemini, this is the sign of the mind, so Uranus in Gemini means we’re thinking about things in whole new ways. If the future is now, then our minds are open to unconventional ideas, plans, and approaches, and we can force ourselves to think further into the future than we ever have before.

We’re embarking on a whole new path, and Uranus helps us generate bold new ideas and embrace plans for change that will shake everything up.

Warning: This energy continues into 2026, as Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune don’t officially move into their new signs until then, so this impact is going to last a while. This change has been in the making since 2020, so many of us are ready for it by now.

With all of these planets changing signs, this is definitely a time for a whole new path. Clinging to the past will only mean certain doom, so don’t do that!

The Most Important Transits for 2025 by Month

Now, let’s go into the most important transit for each month, along with the zodiac signs.

Most Important Transit for January 2025: Mars Retrograde Conjunct the Cancer Full Moon

2025 begins with Mars retrograde, or appearing to move backward, in Leo, which began on December 6th, 2024. Mars quickly moves backward into Cancer on January 6th, 2025, and a Full Moon occurs in Cancer on January 13th that widely conjuncts (aligns with) Mars retrograde and kind of blows it up.

Yes, we have to start the year with challenging energy! But whenever you’re moving into a whole new paradigm, as we are, that often means something has to be broken down first, and that seems to come right away in 2025.

This Mars retrograde in Cancer stimulates deeply emotional energy tied to early life traumas and baggage that has taken root in our core selves. If we’ve run from it, avoided it, hid it away, it can come boiling out at this point.

Full Moons are deeply emotional on their own, and this one, combined with Mars retrograde, is making us super sensitive, easily triggered, and quick to lash out. We really need to try to stay calm and have healthy outlets for the emotional energy and frustration.

If we can do that, we can channel the energy in a positive, productive way and end up using it to our advantage since there is so much energy available. But this means we have to face the hard stuff and be willing, to be honest with ourselves about how it all came to be.

Most Important Transit for February 2025: Mars Direct

On February 23rd, Mars turns direct, ending its retrograde in Cancer. Mars is moving pretty slowly for most of February as it gears up to change direction, so it might feel like things are at a standstill for us, and we’re not quite moving anywhere or anything just yet.

It can be easy to become frustrated and lash out because of this, so we need to make sure we’re holding on to those healthy outlets. Recognize small movements forward, appreciate the little things, and take care of your core self.

Most Important Transit for March 2025: Mercury & Venus Retrograde Conjunct Neptune

Warning: March 2025 is likely to be the wonkiest, wackiest, hardest month of the year because of these aspects!

Venus turns retrograde on March 1st, and Mercury turns retrograde on March 15th, so these two retrogrades are overlapping and occur at essentially the same location in the zodiac, starting in Aries and moving to Pisces.

This is bad enough, and by itself brings some challenges as we’re all super off from the retrograde energy, have lots of fights, and are constantly at odds.

But when Mercury and Venus retrograde back to Pisces, they will conjunct Neptune, which is on its way out of Pisces as it enters Aries on March 30th. Venus conjuncts Neptune on March 27th, and Mercury conjuncts Neptune on March 29th.

This occurs with all of them at the anaretic degree in Pisces. There are 30 degrees in every zodiac sign, and 29 degrees is the last degree. Dubbed the anaretic degree, it’s supercharged energy with the transit planets like this that can be difficult to control.

Put it all together, and what do you get? Something wicked this way comes!

I am deeply concerned about what this might spell out for us worldwide in terms of catastrophic events; we can’t really control that, though. On a personal level, we each are likely going to have to face something from the past that we haven’t let go of yet that we have no choice but to do now, and it can be deeply upsetting.

Preempt this by assessing the baggage you’re still holding on to and dig deep into your subconscious to find anything that you need to address in advance. If you put it off, you may pay a price for that.

With this in Pisces, there is a karmic feel to this, and for many, this is fated, destined, a part of your life plan from the start if you haven’t addressed it yet. It’s like a stopgap your soul planned where if you didn’t do this by now, you’re forced to, whether you want to or not.

Again, preempt this! If you can go into this period without the karmic, spiritual, and subconscious baggage that will skewer most people at this point, you can emerge not only without the drama but even make strides on a spiritual, karmic, or subconscious level.

Those who fall in that category will likely experience some major enlightening and cosmic downloads.

Most Important Transit for April 2025: Mercury & Venus Direct

As mentioned, Venus and Mercury turn retrograde in March, and this concludes on April 7th for Mercury and April 12th for Venus. We’re all likely going to be feeling extra burned out, and exhaustion isn’t just bone-deep but soul-deep. Plan for rest!

Both Mercury and Venus direct occur in Pisces and conjunct Saturn in Pisces. This means we have to come out of these retrogrades being smart, ethical, responsible, mature, and disciplined.

If we’re all over the place, out of control, reckless, or just plain old stupid, Saturn will punish us as we come out of the retrograde. We can feel super restricted, limited, and held back, and more blocks can get thrown in our way.

Keep Saturn in mind as you emerge from those retrogrades. It might be difficult to continue to do things the right way and for the right reasons, but it absolutely must be what you do.

If you can do that, you can set yourself up for the much-improved energy to come as we’re finally done with the retrograde train that began in 2025.

Most Important Transit for May 2025: Saturn Enters Aries

On May 24th, Saturn enters Aries, and this just adds to the movement to a new life path, joining Neptune in Aries (which began March 30th). Saturn wants us to be smart and disciplined, to do things right, and to care about what we’re doing.

In Aries, we have to make sure we’re taking action in the right ways, controlling impulses, and not letting impatience take over. Saturn in Aries means we have to work on lessons and blocks, baggage, and past issues that have impacted our knowledge of who we truly are, the face we present outwardly, and our true identity.

With this, we may push forward in a big way as we’re ready to break out and break free with some aspect of our lives. We’ve been hidden in the shadows for too long, waiting for the right time, and that time can be now.

It’s time for action, smart action, and acting on smart plans. Go forth!

Most Important Transit for June 2025: Jupiter Enters Cancer

Lucky planet Jupiter enters Cancer on June 9th and spends a little over one year in this sign. Jupiter brings its lucky energy to Cancer, the sign of emotion, the home and family, and internal foundations.

This means we have a better, easier time improving matters at home, connections with those we think of as family, and strengthening our inner core. Many may also embark on projects and ventures where you’re starting from the ground up with a solid foundation. This is extra lucky early on as there’s a New Moon in Cancer on June 25th that’s conjunct Jupiter in Cancer, so there’s a really fast boost of energy for new energy that helps us at home, with our loved ones, and with our inner selves.

This can be a great time for buying a home, moving, planning a family gathering, getting back to your roots, or expanding your support system.

Remember that early in the year, Mars retrogrades in Cancer and links up with the Full Moon in January, setting off incredibly challenging energy. If you can work through that properly, rewards may come like lightning with Jupiter and the New Moon.

If you don’t handle that time in January well, you still have a chance with this Jupiter and New Moon combo and might use it as an opportunity to officially and finally turn things around for good.

Most Important Transit for July 2025: Uranus Enters Gemini

Uranus joins in with the monster change on July 7th and enters into Gemini, stimulating lots of new, unconventional ideas about change and the future. Uranus wants us to get excited by what’s possible when we open our minds and branch out.

Uranus gets a little assistance right away from Venus, who enters Gemini on July 4th, and we can work together on these new ideas and plans.

Mercury retrogrades July 18th – August 11th in Leo, though. There can be quick movement right away when Uranus enters Gemini with Venus, but it slows relatively fast and may not really pick up until August.

Most Important Transit for August 2025: Cardinal T-Square

On August 6th, Mars enters Libra, and when it does, it sets off a Cardinal t-square. A t-square occurs when two or more planets oppose one another and all square a third (or more) planet. T-squares occur in one quality (Cardinal signs, Fixed signs, or Mutable signs), and have one of the four zodiac signs of that quality missing.

Mars in Libra opposes Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and they all square Jupiter and Venus in Cancer. There can be challenges with balancing work for the self (Aries) with cooperation and diplomacy (Libra), and this is funneled to the squared Cancer, so it has a challenging impact on the home, family, foundation, and emotionally.

Add on to that Mercury is retrograde until August 11th (making communication difficult), and the Aquarius Full Moon on August 9th stimulates Pluto (hatred, violence). Cardinal t-squares tend to trigger aggression anyway since the Cardinal signs are active, but it seems extra here.

We might see a lot of fighting among people in countries, in families, and with anything that triggers us emotionally. With Cancer, we can be subjective about it and have a hard time opening up past our emotions to see things clearly.

The way out with t-squares is via the missing sign, which is Capricorn for this one. Capricorn is distant, detached, and sees the wide view of the long arc of life. It’s disciplined, responsible, mature, ethical, and in control of itself.

This means we need to act that way! We need to be more emotionally distant and detached so we can see the whole picture, understand what needs to happen, and do it responsibly and with disciplined control.

The Cardinal t-square lasts until October 22nd, 2025, so it has a lot of time to bubble, and we need to be vigilant.

Most Important Transit for September 2025: Anaretic Virgo Solar Eclipse

On September 21st, a Solar Eclipse occurs in Virgo, and this eclipse puts us to work. Virgo is the sign of work, the details, is practical and hard-working, so we can do just that, and it can be a good time for new projects, new jobs, and new work.

This eclipse occurs at the anaretic degree, so it’s at 29 degrees of Virgo. This supercharges the eclipse energy, and we’re quite focused on what we need to get done, what projects we want to get off of the ground, and what’s required of us to do it.

We might demand too much from ourselves, though, and we can work quickly but might be extra stressed as a result. We need to make sure we have healthy outlets for stress, are leaving room in our schedules for breaks and to recharge, and aren’t being too hard on ourselves.

The eclipse opposes Saturn, so we can feel overwhelmed by all we have to get done. Don’t set yourself up for perceived failure by asking too much from yourself.

Most Important Transit for October 2025: Neptune Back to Pisces

On October 22nd, Neptune retrogrades back to Pisces, and this brings back the Neptuneian issues that still have to be resolved, if there are any. Saturn is already back in Pisces by this time (as of September 1st), so there can be greater emphasis on anything that needs to be understood and released.

The only issue is the notorious Neptunian fog. We may struggle at times with seeing what’s right in front of us, what obviously requires our attention and work, and what’s clearly holding us back.

It’s helpful to work on strengthening your connection to your intuition and spiritual self. When you’re not seeing things clearly, your intuition can help guide you when you’re missing all of the information.

Most Important Transit for November 2025: Mercury Retrograde

The last Mercury retrograde for the year occurs November 9th – 29th, and it starts in Sagittarius and moves to Scorpio on November 18th. In Sagittarius, there can be issues with having the space we need, with expansion and exploration, and we might be caught up in something we passionately defend but perhaps aren’t fully knowledgeable about.

It’s more interesting in Scorpio, which can bring out deeply held issues and challenges that require serious, intense focus and transformation. We may lash out, fight over power and control, and be too aggressive.

On November 20th, there’s a Scorpio New Moon, and it’s conjunct Mercury retrograde. This greatly increases the second chance energy with the New Moon, and we may rediscover our power, retake control, restore our wills, and breathe new life into something.

That New Moon is also trine, which is a beneficial aspect, Neptune in Pisces, and opposite Uranus, who is back in Taurus on November 9th. Mercury retrograde is also trine Neptune and opposite Uranus on November 19th, so the day before the New Moon, with all three anaretic.

The opposition to Uranus is extra challenging and increases our impatience and impulsive behavior. We may want to lash out about something from the past that comes back up again. We need to get this under control; otherwise, we create bigger problems for ourselves.

The trine to Neptune is helpful, and if we exercise compassion and empathy, utilize our imagination, and trust our intuition, this can give us a way out.

Most Important Transit for December 2025: Anaretic Neptune Direct

Neptune ends its retrograde on December 10th and is anaretic in Pisces. Neptune is actually anaretic in Pisces the entire time it’s back in Pisces (October 22nd, 2025 – January 26th, 2026).

The turn direct is when the energy is strongest, and we’re deep into Neptune at this point. Our imagination is strong, our intuition demands notice, our compassion can either be high or nonexistent.

We have to work on balancing it all out, and grounding ourselves can help so the Neptunian fog doesn’t take over. Show compassion and empathy while maintaining boundaries; trust intuition while admitting reality; use imagination and the mundane.

The Most Important Transits of 2025 for the Zodiac Signs

Aries: Aries Solar Eclipse + Mercury & Venus Retrogrades + Saturn & Neptune in Aries

Your sign gets the gamut in 2025, so I couldn’t pick just one and had to point out all of it! March brings the Mercury and Venus retrogrades in your sign, and they also come with an Aries Solar Eclipse on March 29th.

This is the last eclipse in your sign, and the combination of a Solar Eclipse plus Mercury and Venus retrogrades in your sign means you’re in a great period to take a second chance with something, which might be a big something.

Focus on what you’d like to try again with. It might be something you started about two years ago with the first Aries Solar Eclipse and see the fruition now.

With Saturn and Neptune moving to your sign as well, this can bring out lessons you need to learn with Saturn and strengthen your spiritual and intuitive connection. Ground your spirituality, be disciplined with your intuition, and merge reality and fantasy.

Taurus: Uranus in Taurus

Uranus is in your sign to start 2025 until July 7th and comes back to your sign on November 7th, and Uranus is nearing the end of its time in your sign. You’ve had a lot of changes in your life in recent years, and you’ve likely changed almost everything or one really important part of yourself.

Uranus is wrapping things up for you, so focus on the big changes you have left to make before Uranus leaves. This would be the time to get it done quickly and to push yourself a little further than you’ve been able to go.

Gemini: Uranus Enters Gemini

Uranus, the planet of change and the unexpected, starts moving to your sign July 7th – November 7th. Uranus in your sign is a time of great change, and this can occur in any and every area of your life or of yourself.

This kicks off in 2025, but Uranus will be in your sign for some time, so you may start some changes now that last for years.

Focus on pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, pursuing the unconventional, and doing things differently. Be independent and iconic, but also a good group worker.

Cancer: Jupiter Enters Cancer

Jupiter enters your sign on June 9th, and you’re the newest recipient of lucky Jupiter energy. Jupiter tours your sign for over a year, and you can focus on expanding your life in new ways and exploring the world beyond your doorstep.

Jupiter in your sign is traditionally seen as one of the most beneficial periods you get in astrology, so this is your time. Open up to new experiences, go to new places, see new things, do new stuff, meet new people, and open up your mind and life.

This is welcome after the start of the year with Mars retrograde in your sign from January 6th to February 23rd. It might feel like things are going really wrong at that point, and you’re uncertain how they turn around, but Jupiter comes and changes that.

This is especially true with the Cancer New Moon on June 25th, which is conjunct Jupiter. This is beneficial energy for everyone, but especially you, so make the most of opportunities and thrive.

Leo: Mercury Retrograde in Leo

Mercury retrogrades in your sign midyear, July 18th – August 11th, 2025. Mercury retrograde in your sign is traditionally a time when you get thrown, too much is put on your plate, and it seems like every little thing that could go wrong does go wrong.

This can be frustrating to no end, and you may lash out or break down. Try to be gentle with yourself and others, and make sure you’ve got healthy outlets for breaks, stress, and upset.

Mercury retrograde in your sign is fantastic for second chances, so work on that during this time. Pick something out in advance that you can give another shot, whether it’s something you tried and failed at, something you started but didn’t finish, or something you didn’t have the opportunity to get going with.

Virgo: Solar Eclipse in Virgo

The September 21st Solar Eclipse is in your sign, Virgo, so this is traditionally a great period for you to focus on a new beginning. This can be something that excites you, and it can be something that you work on for years to come.

Your energy and enthusiasm can be high, and you can get excited once you get started. Channel passionate energy into it, and work on utilizing your natural skills and organizational talents to take you far.

With this eclipse being anaretic, you can feel an extremely strong urge to take action while you have the chance. Opportunities may be plentiful, but they may have an expiration date, so don’t let it pass you by.

The previous New Moon on August 23rd is also in Virgo, so you may start getting those opportunities sooner than the eclipse. Be smart with them and take a chance on yourself.

Libra: Mars in Libra

Mars tours your sign from August 6th to September 22nd, 2025. Mars is the planet of energy and drive, so Mars in your sign is usually a time of high energy, enthusiasm, and the drive to take the initiative for what you want.

You can feel motivated to get started with a new beginning, and this can be something that you work on for the next 18 – 24 months. You can feel reinvigorated and ready to take action.

That might not happen immediately since Mercury is retrograde until August 11th. Once that’s over, you can focus on getting going as quickly as possible.

Do keep in mind the Cardinal t-square does include your sign, so make sure you’re not giving outsized focus to your goals and remember to take care of personal matters and emotional needs.

Scorpio: Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio

Mercury retrogrades November 9th – 29th; part of that retrograde is in your sign, November 18th – 29th. Mercury retrograde in your sign usually brings out all sorts of little issues, and you can get frustrated and overwhelmed, lash out, or break down.

You have to go easy on yourself when Mercury is retrograde in your sig and not expect so much. If things start going a little haywire, don’t let it get to you, and keep focused.

You do get some help from the November 20th New Moon in your sign, and Venus is in Scorpio as well. You may get assistance from others thanks to Venus, and the New Moon can bring opportunities to give something a second try.

Sagittarius: Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius

Mercury retrogrades November 9th – 29th, and it starts in your sign until November 18th. It’s only 9 days, but you might feel like things are going kind of wonky, and you may have a hard time keeping up, and your energy gets drained when Mercury goes back to Scorpio.

Leave lots of room in your schedule and plans to get things done so you’re not rushing, and allow yourself the space to recharge and get plenty of rest when you need it. Focus on anything you can redo, revise, revisit, rethink, restore, or revamp.

Al, so note that Mars will be in your sign at the same time, so you’ll get a shot of life from Mars to use in whatever way you want. You may focus on getting started with something that’s a focus for the next 1-2 years.

Capricorn: Mars in Capricorn

Mars is in your sign, Capricorn, from December 15th to the end of 2025 (until January 23rd). This is the first time in many years Mars will be in your sign without Pluto also in your sign since Pluto has moved to Aquarius.

This frees you up a little bit, and your energy and drive can surge, but not in such an intense and passionate way with Pluto. It’s more controlled, more optimistic, ic, and buoyant, and you can be more excited about what you pursue.

The Sun enters Capricorn on December 21st, and Venus enters Capricorn on December 24th, so you get a little Capricorn stellium going (which occurs when three or more planets are together in one zodiac sign). This peaks in January 2026 with Mercury also in Capricorn and a Capricorn New Moon (January 18th).

This can be a lot more exciting for you than it’s been in a while, and you can focus on what you want to get started for yourself. Opportunities can come your way, and you can be willing to be a little bolder and braver.

Aquarius: Aquarius New Moon

There’s an Aquarius New Moon on January 29th, and it comes the day before Uranus, the natural ruling planet of Aquarius, ends its own retrograde, as well as 2 days after Mercury enters Aquarius (January 27th) and creates an Aquarius stellium with Pluto.

This is great for concentrating your energy on something important, and it can be exciting and thrilling in some way. You can make the most of the energy you have and pursue opportunities with greater enthusiasm.

With Uranus no longer retrograde, this frees up your energy and helps you feel more like yourself, giving you more confidence as you go forward.

Mars is still retrograde for this, so keep in mind that before you start anything, you need to make sure the foundation is solid and strong and that you maintain your energy productively.

Pisces: Lunar Eclipse in Pisces + Saturn & Neptune in Pisces

You got the brunt of the focus in 2024, Pisces, but this is winding down in 2025. You still have some to deal with, though, as Saturn is in your sign to start the year until May 2nd and comes back September 1st; Neptune is in your sign to start the year until March 30th and comes back October 22nd; and the third and final Lunar Eclipse in your sign occurs on September 7th,2025.

Anything that you haven’t addressed yet, you have the chance to do so in 2025, but the window is closing. Lessons that you need to learn, baggage that you need to release, karma that you need to work out, trauma that you need to understand, boundaries that you need to build – any of that left gets more of your attention.

Make more time for reflection and introspection during these periods, especially around the eclipse, and pay attention to your subconscious, intuition, and dreams.

Have a Great 2025!
