SATURN CONJUNCT THE SUN: MARCH 12TH-MOVING INTO THE HEART OF THE SUN

EYE ON ASTROLOGY: Saturn Conjunct Sun : MARCH 12TH –Into the Heart of the Sun.

I learn a lot from my Western astrological friends. While combustion is one of the most damaging things for a planet in Vedic astrology, it turns out total combustion within the last degree is a blessing. Saturn will be conjunct with the Sun on Wed. March 12th at 6:29 am in the Eastern US EDT but other parts of the world will experience it later. It will be within 1 degree on March 11-March 13th. While the exact definition of cazimi is 17 minutes, I find 40 minutes is a useful number and often round it off to 1 degree even. Having a strong Saturn in my chart, I find the Sun/Saturn exact conjunction very energizing and a breath of fresh air. If you are Aquarius or Capricorn rising or have Saturn as your Atmakaraka, the planet with the highest degree, you might actually find your soul recharged.

The exact conjunction of the Sun with Saturn on March 12th can be a really good thing and is called cazimi and comes from medieval astrology and it used to refer to planets that are so close to a conjunction with the Sun that they are “in the heart” of the Sun. They become energized by the Sun and their most positive qualities come out. This will be a positive for March 11-13th and is within 40 minutes of the Sun. An example of cazimi is Oprah Winfrey who has a cazimi Venus in her natal chart; it has made her an incredible star to women and brought out her acting and relationship abilities with the public to a pinnacle.

Saturn Cazimi will impact Capricorn and Aquarius rising positively and also if Saturn is in your first house or if it is your Atamakaraka or planet with the highest degree. It could bring out hard work, reliability, efficiency, good at following work instructions precisely, and could bring deep meditative transcendence. The 1-2 day transit is short-lived and over by March 14th we are back to the intense grunge of Sun/Saturn so watch speeding and be kind to your boss and watch your blood pressure and avoid speeding cause the police department may be a bit more intense than usual if you have to encounter them. Note: Saturn combustion ends on Saturday, March 29th and so critical energies, complaining, negative thinking will continue into the end of the month. Find time for the arts, spend time with women, paint, dance and sing to offset the heavy energies.l Unfortunately, Saturn then goes Sandhi when it is at 29-1 degrees as it changes signs into Pisces on March 29th and that also continues the heavy Saturn energy into April 5th when it hits 1 degree. Thereafter it is getting too close to Rahu in April and May and that increases fear, anxiety and paranoia but luckily the Venus conjunction Saturn will come to the rescue in April with Venus conjunct Saturn on April 24th and within a few degrees through May 2nd.
